OUR MISSION
Advocacy and Caring for Children (ACC), a volunteer organization, provides care, funding and advocacy for Western Washington children and families in need, regardless of race or creed.
 
WHAT WE DO
Advocacy and Caring for Children (ACC) is a group of committed women who support a network of programs focused on the needs of underserved children and families in an effort to improve their quality of life. For over 100 years, ACC members have remained faithful to the needs of children and families by providing financial and volunteer resources through steadfast partnerships with organizations across Western Washington.
 
PURPOSE
● Originating in 1918, ACC is the oldest women’s Catholic charity in Western Washington.
● ACC’s leading causes include: family services, education, immigration, and more.
● ACC has supported 54 organizations with just under $1.7 million in the last decade, more than $3.3 million in 21 years.
● ACC currently has 14 circles and 255 members actively volunteering and fundraising.
● Catholic Community Services, the largest private social service agency in the State of Washington, was created as a direct result of the work of the women of ACC.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
● During the fiscal year 2021-2022, the ACC board awarded over $205,000 in grants to nineteen agencies in Western Washington.
● ACC recognizes that well-supported families, women, and children are crucial for healthy communities.
● ACC has supported 54 organizations with just under $1.7 million in just the last decade, and more over the course of its century-long history.​
● Total served by category 2021-22:
  • Children and Families : 1,146 : 1.7%  of served : $50,000 : 24.4% of grants funded
  • Education and Emergency Services : 3,778 : 5.5% : $75,000 : 36.6% of grants funded
  • Adoption and Immigration : 158: .2% : $20,000 : 9.8% of grants funded
  • Infant Care – Specialty Services: 2,178 : 3.2% : $40,000 : 19.5% of grants funded
  • Meals: 60,881 : 89.4% : $20,000 : 9.7% of grants funded
