ADVOCACY AND ACTION

Ways to Advocate

An important part of Advocacy and Caring for Children's mission is advocacy. We hope that this page offers you to explore the many opportunities available for you to participate in advocating for women and children.
  • Catholic Community Services main component of advocacy is coordinated by their Dialogue for Justice page. You can sign up for emails to join in making our voices heard. This link contains information on Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and why the need to advocate to reduce poverty is so important.
  • Children’s Alliance: They advocates for kids. You can find more information on their website, where they state, "We ensure that laws, policies and programs work for kids, and we hold our leaders accountable until they secure the resources required to make all children safe and healthy."
  • Family Law CASA: Volunteer to work with Family Law CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and serve as the voice of children in court when their parents are involved in contested paternity, divorce, and third-party custody cases. Family Law CASA works to ensure a safe, nurturing environment for children in tough custody cases in King County. The children they serve are from low-to-moderate-income homes, and more than half are six years old or younger. Their cases often involve allegations of domestic violence, substance abuse and mental illness.
